My younger son was six years old.
One weekend, he turned to us and said with complete seriousness:
“I cannot lose today… I need to play more.”
For a child, play is more than a way to pass the time.
It is a way to learn, explore, laugh and imagine.
At that young age, he taught me a very big lesson:
Life is today.
Tomorrow… plans for the future, dreams, goals… All of these are possibilities.
But “today” is real, tangible and the greatest treasure we have to live.
Watching him play, I saw how his attention was entirely absorbed in the game, while mine kept drifting towards tomorrow. His laughter and curiosity belonged to that day.
What my son said that day became a small but powerful reminder for me: do not lose today.
“Do not lose today.”
Yesterday is gone…
Tomorrow is a dream.
So what is today?
What do you do to avoid losing today?
