Sergeant Irina<\/em>, the first book written by Tar\u0131k Mete Aytekin at a young age, centres on young Irina, who volunteers to join the army during the Second World War.<\/p>\n

When introducing the book, we should consider both the wartime setting and the story of a person trying to prove herself within it. An interest in history becoming a fictional world makes a young writer\u2019s effort visible.<\/p>\n

Turning an idea into a completed work<\/h2>\n

What impressed me about this book, written by Tar\u0131k Mete during his high-school years, was the desire to write becoming a finished work. Thinking, starting, continuing and finishing are different things. Each requires its own effort.<\/p>\n

A book does not affect every reader in the same way. Even so, helping a reader ask a new question or find the courage to write their own story is meaningful.<\/p>\n

I wish Tar\u0131k Mete Aytekin every success and look forward to seeing his new works.<\/p>
